Openair-Plasma technology in the Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering

We build bridges - between research and application. But we can only do this with our customers and partners at our side. So, we are in regular contact with our customers and partners in industry, science, and research to advance plasma knowledge and research, and to promote plasma technology and its benefits for automated joining processes.

We are proud to count some of the world's most prestigious institutes and universities among our research and cooperation partners. Among them is the renowned Stanford University in California, USA, which we support with our plasma systems in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering under the direction of RUTH G. AND WILLIAM K. BOWES PROFESSOR Reinhold H. Dauskardt.

The department has worked with our surface preparation systems on several research and grant projects. Dauskardt and his team have been particularly successful in producing multifunctional coatings using our Openair-Plasma systems. The Stanford team is supported by our colleagues at Plasmatreat North America, headquartered in Elgin, IL, and our R&D center in Hayward, CA.

We would like to thank Professor Dauskardt for his many years of cooperation and his confidence in us and Plasmatreat's plasma technology.

Background information: Dauskardt and his group have worked extensively on the integration of new materials into new technologies, including thin-film structures for nanoscience and energy technologies, high-performance composites and laminates for aerospace, and biomaterials and soft tissues for bioengineering. His group has pioneered the characterization of adhesion and cohesion of thin films widely used in device technology.
